Advancing Salutogenesis

On Friday, June 18th, The New Human University presented preliminary, first-quarter, results from The Metamodern Mystery School at the 6th International Conference on Salutogenesis in the session for “Salutogenesis beyond the health sector in schools and other educational settings.”

We believe that The Metamodern Mystery School is about 20 years ahead of the curve. Because of a general inability to promote “late-stage adult development,” presenters in this specific session focused on schools K-12 and college/university where development can be influenced more readily without higher-order catalytic mechanisms. Presenting results from a university for adults that engage in e.g. Soul Awakening challenged the predisposition towards young adults and children.
With respect to young adults, it is uncommon to address “New Human Capacities,” an observation that could be attributed to the lack of a fully formed prefrontal cortex before the age of twenty-five. As adults, we tend to understand that there is untapped, latent potential within us and we, ideally, seek to activate higher-level capacity. New Human capacities include:
