Snap to Grid

Snap to grid is a computer function used to organize files or images automatically. It uses an invisible grid to line up the items on the screen along perfect horizontal and vertical lines. In Windows, this function is called “Align to Grid.” On a Macintosh, the snap-to-grid function is called “Clean Up.” In computer programs, when you create images and objects, there is a snap-to-grid option that aligns your creations with a grid. It assures you that all creations are perfectly lined up without trial and error.

Snap-to-Grid Intellectualism: In social interaction, the lobbing back and forth of nominally and tangentially related concepts expressed through cliches, slogans, and platitudes with one or more discussion partners in simulated conversation,

Cross Stich Thinking

Cross stitch is safe. There’s no risk. Just follow the instructions.

When you encounter something new, your mind’s meaning-making machine seeks out the most meaningful connection it can make. And if you’re physiologically dominated by lower, primitive functions, then your meaning-making function will strategize for survival. In other words, you would see emergent, thriving functionality — such as the thriving functions of the Higher Brain and Higher Heart — as merely another survival tool. When survival physiology is dominant, your mind will snap to the survival grid, and we call that being smart.

Using the number of comments on this blog as an example & representation of snapping to grid, the most comments on any blog post, I suggest that, because I lobbed a meme that facilitated a quick snap to grid for our primary audience — post-modern people interested in spirituality — was able to respond and lob back commentary.

  • “555” got 18 comments
  • “The World Needs You” got 10 comments
  • “New Start” got 8 comments

In each of those blog posts, the general topic was “we call on you to step up into the revolution.”  But the title “555” seems to have caused more snap-to-grid comments than the other.

If you’re reading this blog, what grid points snap into your mind when you see or hear “555”?

The Morass

There’s a morass of ideas in our minds — a mimetic field of language and ideas. Evolutionarily, humans have matured by sorting reality into manageable chunks of meaning. A meme is a chunk of meaning which, in part, represents linguistic survival. During simulated conversation, we navigate the morass of ideas by lobbing the next best meme at one or more discussion partners and, as long as our memes are generally acceptable, we survive the simulated conversation.

Our best chance of linguistic survival is to find a place for our ideas on the grid, in the matrix, following a pattern. Out of a need for survival, snap-to-grid intellectualism was born. But as we navigate the morass, there is another evolutionary function that seeks creative advance into novelty. But how can a mind create something new when the mind is trying to survive by soring via sameness?

Revolution

Breaking free from the matrix requires mental and linguistic revolution. Beyond revolution, transcending yet including linguistic habits — such as meaning making — requires surrendering to a state where no language can sort meaning, and no symbols suffice. Such a state can only be experienced and snapping to the same old grid keeps us from making the leap out of the morass and mental matrix.

The New Human University offers a one-year course in the teachings and practices of PraxisAletheia: The Mystery School at the Leading Edge of Evolution. PraxisAletheia is a path of waking up, growing up, cleaning up, and showing up in the world with your new & unique contribution. For many who attend PraxisAletheia, their Big Purpose includes spirituality and attainment of Enlightenment. For others, their Big Purpose includes serving others in the same way.

We’re creating new grid points at the leading edge of evolution. These new grid points will help future generations “snap” into higher states & stages more easily.

Watch this webinar to see if you are a good fit for PraxisAletheia. We are currently offering early enrollment into the class beginning February 6th, 2023, with a substantial reduction in tuition for the first 12 people to watch the webinar, apply, and interview
