We are often told “There are no shortcuts in life!” And yet here we are on our computers or mobile devices connected to a network of the world’s information, parts of which — like this blog post — can be delivered in seconds. Fifty years ago, you would have received this blog post in a letter, typed on a typewriter, delivered by mail.

This blog is a manifestation of evolution’s short cuts.

Evolution marches forward with some seeming purpose for creating shortcuts and reducing the amount of time & energy spent on growth, evolution, and advancement, whether technological, emotional, psychological, or spiritual.

It used to be the case that one would leave their family & friends and go to the jungle in order to sit & meditate, undisturbed for weeks or months or even years at a time to advance spiritually. Over the last 1000 years, one big advance was meditating at night and sacrificing sleep instead of leaving the family.

We’ve evolved

No need for nunneries, not unless you want to go. But you could get to the jungle — we’re in Mexico right now gearing up for the SOLD-OUT Enlightenment & Evolution Retreat. Yes, we’re sold out in 2023, but you can join us in 2024.

During the retreat, for one week we walk the path (more of a sprint, really) of waking up, growing up, cleaning up, and showing up. We learn the revolutionary, brain-first meditation technique — Source Code Meditation — and apply a heightened body/mind to the practices of the 9 Summits of Transformation.

For the sake of short cut, we’ll address the paths of Waking Up and Growing Up

Waking Up

On the Waking-Up Path we have various states of consciousness which come for free:

• Gross, ego state — the identity we have with respect to the physical matter & electromagnetic energy associated with our body
• Soul state — an identity with subtle faculties & energy that exists even when the body drops, and the soul goes on in time; the Soul state is associated with a release from exclusive identification with the body
• Transcendent state — an identity transcendent, but inclusive of, the Soul & Gross states, which is unborn and beyond spacetime
• Unitary State — an identity with the Transcendent state pouring itself back into the world of form, including the Gross, ego state; non-duality

The Waking-Up Path is a path of Enlightenment. It’s a path that humans have been exploring and codifying for thousands of years. It’s a path of transformation of our subjective awareness that brings more & more complexity of mind as our identity grows beyond physical awareness into awareness of that which is beyond the body.  No matter where a person is on the Growing-Up Path, they may access a higher state of greater subjectivity — more enlightenment — from their current evolutionary stage.

Growing Up

On the Growing-Up Path, we have various stages of evolution which are earned:

1. Archaic – survival & safety
2. Magic – egocentric sense-making while the identity is undifferentiated from the surrounding environment; enchanted, emotional, and sexual, bound to nature & family
3. Power – egocentric sense-making through strength, confidence, assertiveness
4. Mythic-Literal — ethnocentric sense-making through tradition, accountability, laws, structure, and discipline
5. Modern — world-centric sense-making through rational, modern values, achievement, autonomy, conscientiousness, science, and fiscal responsibility
6. Postmodern — world-centric sense-making through egalitarian values, equal rights, environmentalism, multi-culturalism, and relativism.
7. Metamodern Emergence— Universalistic sense-making through integral, system-thinking perspectives, self-actualization, insight, intuition, and an orientation to both horizontal & vertical growth.
8. Metamodern Ascension — Kosmocentric sense-making through valuing processes and the created & the uncreated, seeing all matter as ‘awake’ and all energy as ‘alive’, existing inside & outside of time, and driven to create heaven on earth.

The Growing-Up Path is a path of Evolution. It’s a path that initiated 13.8 billion years ago when spacetime issued forth in a “Big Bang”, because of an impulse to create something new; something that would allow the source of the Big Bang to know & recognize itself — ourselves — through novelty.

And now there is a NEW SHORT CUT to the highest stages of consciousness.

Short Cut

We’re born on third base and think we hit a triple. Our ancestors needed to get to the jungles (or nunneries) but we have it easier. Eons of evolution produced you. Eons of starts & stops. Evolutional history is saturated with blood, sweat, and tears. Our ancestors earned their place in evolution and gave you your place. In the pattern of evolution, we must all play a part in forwarding evolution. There is no avoiding it.

But awareness of our part of evolution changes the rules of the game.  The evolutionary game has been unknown to us. Previously, we’ve just been going along taking what’s given to us and enfolding into better strategies for survival and striving towards thriving. But the basic rule for the survival strategy has been sameness, which is counter to novelty.

Now that we’re aware of the evolutionary process, we can intercede and short-cut the process. And our intercession becomes a novel evolutionary process. Now, we get to co-create the future. We can consciously earn our place in evolutionary history. We can choose where & how to spend our blood, sweat, and tears. We can put direct effort into BOTH paths of waking up and growing up: Enlightenment and Evolution. A Metamodern Hero’s Journey. We can create more short cuts for future generations.

PraxisAletheia

As we said, we’re in Mexico, in the jungle (ironically), at our International Enlightenment & Evolution Retreat. We’re going through both paths (as well as the Cleaning Up & Showing Up paths) powerfully and in quick succession, leveraging the power of inner organic technology and The New Holy Trinity.  We’re changing the rules of the game.
